Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Matthew 19:14

Nursery
Though we love seeing and hearing children in worship, we know that sometimes they need their own space to run around and play. Each Sunday we have a nursery available staffed with our trained nursery attendant. If you have a young child, our nursery is the perfect place for them!

Children’s Church
Starting in February of 2022, we are resuming our normal Children’s Church activities on Sundays during the worship service. After the children’s moment in the service, children are invited to go to our education room for lessons and activities. Though children are of course welcome to remain in the sanctuary for the full worship service, we know that sometimes having their own space where the activities are tailored to them can be more enjoyable.

Children in Worship
We believe that children will find worship meaningful when they are given an active role in it, and when it relates to their own needs and interests.
From reading scripture, offering prayers, singing and playing music, to even our Youth Sundays, our children play an important role in our worship services. Starting in 2022, we are excited about our new focus in worship on the 5th Sundays of the month called, “Family 5th Sundays.” These worship services will be different than our typical Sunday worship services because they are geared specifically towards the needs of children, youth, and families.
For children who want to stay in the sanctuary, but need activities to keep them engaged, we also offer worship boxes that have activities and coloring pages that tie into the worship theme of the day.

Other Events
In addition the the specific activities and programs listed about, we are creating programs and events specific to children and youth. On the 3rd Sunday of the Month, we are starting a “Parent’s Afternoon Out,” which will be an opportunity for parents to leave their children with us after the worship service for an afternoon of food, games, and activities.
We are also proud that our youth participate each year in the summer Disciple of Christ camp in Indiana, which provides a weeklong spiritually fulfilling experience.
If you are interested in learning more about opportunities for children and youth, please contact our Church Office (812.944.1736) and we would be happy to talk to you about them.
