Fellowship Hike
Join us for a Fellowship Hike at Nine Penny Branch Nature Preserve on Saturday, August 29 at 9:00 a.m. It’s a chance to get outside, build relationships, enjoy good conversation, and appreciate the beauty of God’s creation together. All are welcome!
Room to Wonder Small Group
Location: Coffee Crossing at 4212 Charlestown Rd. New Albany, IN

Room to Wonder is a monthly book discussion held at a local coffee shop where we’ll gather for thoughtful, respectful conversation about faith, doubt, spirituality, and what it means to follow Jesus in today’s world. There are no lectures, no pressure to have all the answers, and no expectation that everyone will agree. Instead, we’ll listen well, ask honest questions, and learn from one another’s stories.
Our first book will be The Exvangelicals by Sarah McCammon. Through personal stories and thoughtful reporting, McCammon explores the rise of the evangelical movement in America, why many people have chosen to leave it, and how those experiences continue to shape their understanding of faith, identity, and community. Whether you grew up evangelical, know someone who did, or are simply interested in better understanding this important conversation, the book offers a compassionate starting point.
Louisville Bats Game
Join us for a night at the ballpark as we cheer on the Louisville Bats on Friday, September 11 at 7:15 p.m. Tickets will be purchased together as a group, so please let the church office know if you’d like to attend. Come enjoy a fun evening of baseball, fellowship, and good company!
Lunch & Learn
Join us for a Lunch & Learn on Sunday, October 4, featuring Dr. Art Farnsley, a researcher and scholar of religion and American culture who directs the Congregations and Polarization Project at the Center for the Study of Religion and American Culture.
Art will share about the Congregations and Polarization Project, which studies how churches are navigating an increasingly polarized culture and how congregations can remain places of community, conversation, and connection amid deep divisions. The project has included conversations and focus groups with pastors across Indiana about the issues creating division in their congregations and communities.
Come enjoy lunch, learn something new, and join the conversation about how the church can be a place that brings people together.

Fellowship Trivia Night
Put your knowledge to the test at Trivia Night on Wednesday, November 11 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Hops. Central Christian is putting together a team to compete, so come join us for some friendly competition, good conversation, and plenty of laughs! Let the church office know if you’d like to be part of the team.
Sunday Morning Groups
Challengers Class
Rm. Pastor’s Parlour (classroom off sanctuary)
Our Challengers class meets Sunday morning at 9:00am before the Worship service for Bible study.
ASK Class
Rm. Fellowship Hall (basement of church)
The Ask Class is a progressive adult Sunday school class that meets each Sunday before worship. This class asks engaging and critical questions about faith, scripture, and culture, often using film series from The Work of the People to guide the conversation.
Weekday Groups
Christian Women’s Fellowship (CWF)
The Christian Women’s Fellowship (CWF) is made up of three groups, called circles, each offering opportunities for fellowship, conversation, service, and outreach throughout the year.
- Miriam Circle meets at 10:00 a.m. on the second Tuesday of each month, typically at the church.
- Ruth Circle meets at 7:00 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month, gathering at various locations.
- Esther Oval meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at Neill & Patty’s Fireside Grill.
Together, the circles help support the life and ministry of our church and community through a variety of outreach projects and events throughout the year, including the S. Ellen Jones Christmas Project, yard sales, fundraisers, and other service opportunities.
Christian Men’s Fellowship (CMF)
Our Christian Men’s Fellowship gathers on the third Tuesday of each month for fellowship, conversation, and a program. Throughout the year, the group also enjoys cookouts, gatherings at locations around the community, and opportunities to serve and connect with others through outreach. While they often meet at our A&P Building at 6:30pm, they occasionally gather at other locations and times for special events and activities.
Outreach Opportunities
Love Unlimited Community Outreach
Every Saturday, Love Unlimited Community Outreach serves a meal and provides supplies to our neighbors in need. But, multiple times each year we provide the meal and serve them. This outreach opportunity is a wonderful way to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

St. Mark’s Saturday Café
Central Christian Church has a team of volunteers who prepare and serve meals for our neighbors at St. Mark’s Saturday Café.
